I started making hand made paper from my less- than-stellar watercolor paintings. I learned that I could tear them up, put them in a blender, and turn them into something beautiful for your home.
I also incorporate other fibers that can be used to make hand-made paper. Kozo is a bark from the mulberry tree found in Japan or Thailand. The bark must be cooked to remove the impurities before it can be transformed. Abaca comes from a banana plant that grows in the Philippines. I also use gifts from my garden in these pieces.
Many people use my pieces as Blessing Vessels. Write your blessings on a piece of paper, roll it up, and place it in the vessel. Some people do this all year long and read the blessings on a special occasions such as New Year's, birthdays, or anniversaries.
